Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine

Dr. David P. Hajjar, Dean Emeritus and the Frank H.T. Rhodes Distinguished Professor of Cardiovascular Biology and Genetics, Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and Professor of Biochemistry was selected as a 2014 Jefferson Fellow by the National Academy of Sciences and the U.S. Department of State.  This program is open to tenured, distinguished faculty from U.S. institutions of higher learning who are U.S. citizens. Selected Jefferson Science Fellows spend time on assignment at the U.S. Department of State as expert science advisors on foreign policy issues. Assignments are tailored to the fellows' interests and areas of expertise. The area of concentration for Professor Hajjar will be in human health and disease. As part of their assignments, Jefferson Fellows also have the opportunity to travel to U.S. embassies and missions overseas.
